1st European Deaf Football Women Championships
The Championships will be under the patronage of the Mayor of Sofia - Jordanka Fandakova
The 1st European Deaf Football Woman Championships, which will be held in Bulgarian Black Sea resort - Albena 6-11 June 2011 will be under the patronage of the Mayor of Sofia - Jordanka Fandakova. In that way Bulgarian Deaf Sports Federation made one more step to good cooperation with the Sofia municipality, because of hard work to organize big sports events for deaf people in the country.
After the withdrawn of the teams of Denmark and Norway, in the tournament will participate 4 countries: Germany, Russia, Great Britain and Greece and the teams will form one competition group.
Except cup and medals, there are prizes for the best player, for the top scorer and fair play.

Russia won the title
The team of Russia won the golden medals at the 1st European Deaf Women Football Championships, which is holding in Bulgarian Black See resort - Albena. The women of Russia defeated the strong German team with 3:1 and took the first title in women deaf european futball. Great Britain took first victory over the absent Greece and won the broze medals.
Veronika Nazina (Rus) won the prizes for the best player and the top scorer. Great Britain took the prize for fair play.
In the first competition day Russia wins over Great Britain with 3:0 and Germany took a victory without play, because Greece didn't come.
In the second competition day Germany defeat Great Britain with 4:1 and Russia take new 3 points without play from Greece.
The Championships was open with ceremony in the presence of Nikolay Nikolov (BDSF President) and Guido Zanecchia (EDSO representative). There were received congratulatory letters from Svilen Neykov (Minister of Sports) and Jhordanka Fandakofa (Mayor of Sofia and patron of the championships).
